“Close your eyes and I’ll kiss you,” he once sang to adoring Beatles fans.

Almost 60 years later, Sir Paul McCartney clearly has the same message for his daughter.

In a touching show of affection, the 79-year-old music legend gave photographer Mary a peck on the lips as they parted ways after meeting for lunch at the bohemian vegan restaurant Farmacy in the trendy district of Notting Hill, west London, last week.

With his black Covid mask down, Sir Paul – whose 1963 hit All My Loving is among his many classics – placed an arm around his daughter’s back as he gave her a goodbye kiss after their lunch quiet Thursday.

His adoption of the £1,200 device, once worn only by children and teenagers, underscores the growing popularity of cosmetic dentistry for adults.

The former Beatle’s parental kiss could reignite a debate over whether fathers should kiss their daughters on the lips, an issue that first arose in 2017 when David Beckham posted a picture of him and of her ten-year-old daughter, Harper.

It has upset social media, but the former footballer has defied critics to continue sharing photos of him hugging not just his daughter, but his sons as well.

In 2018, he defended his habit, saying, “I kiss all my kids on the lips, well maybe not Brooklyn because he’s 18.”
